My Beloved Friends and Family,

Our Spiritual Journey is getting closer, when Dr. Desmar Walkes and I will be traveling to South Africa on a fact finding Mission. God has placed South Africa on her heart and we believe there is a reason for this. There is obviously something there that she will see and will also hear from God, as to what to do with the information. We will be traveling around the country to visit the places where God wants us to be. Most of all we are urging you to pray for us that we will be in the right place at the right time to meet those who God has in the perfect plan for the ministry of prayer and healing, and making people whole. This is truly a “FAITH MISSION”. We have no idea where God will eventually lead us, nor how He will provide for us. Our eyes are upon the Lord.

At the beginning of April, we are planning to fly from Houston to Cape Town, where we will be staying with our dear friends, Elna and Mercia, in Sommerset West. Our flights are not confirmed yet, as I am trying to get us both free economy tickets with my frequent flying miles. Please PRAY this will work out. Our tentative date of departure is, hopefully, April 4th. Dr.Walkes will spend about 10 days in South Africa and I will remain through April into the beginning of May. I am so looking forward to visiting with all my dear friends and family.

One of the places that really drew the doctor’s attention, is the town built for women and children with AIDS. So many of these tragic people were thrown out of their homes, when they took ill, our hearts go out to them. What a blessing it would be if we could minister to and pray for them. I am praying Nico will be able to make arrangements for us to visit this unusual and blessed town.

Hopefully we will have a Sunday in Cape Town so we can attend the Good Hope MCC. I will be thrilled to see Denise and all the other dear ones who attended Sharon’s Memorial Service. Actually it will be exciting to be with everyone again.

You will never believe what Dr. Walkes wants in Durban “SPICES”. I had forgotten how many spices we import from the East. When I lived there I took them for granted. The doctor shall have her wish. Maybe Michael, Thora’s brother, would be kind enough to take us to the Indian Market.

God willing, and time allowing, we want to visit a hospital in Zululand that has been experimenting with a particular plant, which has brought healing to many HIV patients. And last but not least, it would be wonderful if we could catch up with Pastor Stemmett in Pretoria and see what she has on her heart as well as allowing Dr. Walkes to see where President Mandela was inaugurated.

So Prayer Warriors, go to work. I especially appeal to Pastor Debbie Bell and her faithful members in Durban. Maybe the only Sunday Dr.Walkes is in South Africa, will put us in Durban and we can have a grand time with all of you at Deo Gloria.

As I mentioned, this is truly a faith venture, for that is how Dr. Walkes lives. Joan Wakeford Ministries is sponsoring the trip, so if the Lord places this step of obedience on your heart, please be faithful to His bidding.

THANK YOU ALL, for all your love, prayers and wonderful support over the years. I would be remiss if I did not thank Dr.Walkes for her dedication to her profession. I am so well after she began to take me off many of the medications that were unnecessary and harmful and set up other examinations to make sure I would be well and strong. What a blessing. I also thank the Lord and all of you who prayed.
I love you,

Joan
