“Thank
You” seems to fall short, when it comes to my expressing my gratitude to all of you, for your prayers, e-mails, cards
and loving support, throughout my surgery and subsequent recuperation. As many of you know, I had been ill for quite a long
time. It seems that built up scar tissue from previous surgeries and a twisted bowel, were the culprits. However, when Dr
Ross insisted on immediate surgery, I did not realize the extent of that surgery, nor how long it would take me to heal, but
God is good and in answer to prayer, here I am, feeling so much better and almost to the place where I can get back to the
task of writing and finishing my book.
Thank God I was here, with Bill and Ken, when I took so ill. They
have seen me through one of the most difficult times of my life. As for Bill, what can I say? He was at the hospital daily
and because he was a nurse (retired), I was allowed to return home early, where Bill could change the dressings on my wound
and take care of me, generally.
When
Bill and Ken went on vacation, their dear friend, also a retired nurse, Donna Cockrell, kindly came around and took care of
me.

What have I done to be so blessed and have such precious Angels in
my life? Like I said, even a GREAT BIG THANK YOU, is not nearly enough.
All through this time of “getting well and strong”,
I have been thinking of the miraculous God we serve. So often we say, “With God, nothing is impossible,” but,
do we honestly believe it? It brought to mind a story I read about in a South African Christian Magazine.
It told of a young man, who was sitting behind the wheel of
his car, driving home. His mind was brim full of plans for his future. Life, at that very moment, was exciting and he couldn’t
wait to get the desires of his heart, into motion. He had been called, by God, to go into the ministry.
He understood, fully, the meaning of, “Joy unspeakable and
full of glory.” And a great peace settled over his whole being.
He Then the unthinkable
happend. Before he knew it, his car had suddenly swerved and was careening off the road, over a bank and into a body of water.
He lost all control of the car and found himself sitting there helpless trying to open the doors or windows. The car
continued to sink into the water and he was locked in. Can you image his thoughts at that moment? Try as he would, there was
no way out.
He must of passed out, because he cannot remember
a thing after that. When he came to he was lying on a grassy bank on the side of the water. He was completely dry and
his car was still locked at the bottom of its watery grave. "How did I get out? Did an Angel get me out?
How come my clothes are dry?" Can you image the questions? From the depths of his heart came praise and thanksgiving
for his deliverance and solemn promise to serve the lord with all his heart, for the rest of his life.

There was one problem. He had to contact the police ans someone to
get his car out of the water. When they eventually got the car onto shore, the police wanted toknow how he got out, since
all the doors and windows were locked? How do you explain to this policeman? How do explain it period? I believe it was GOD
and I still believe in the impossible. So be encourage, God will find a way out of your predicament, even if you find
it impossible.
This
young man and his fiance went on to Seminary and are now serving God, somewhere in the great Harvest Field.
I can’t tell you how
thrilled it makes me to be part of God’s great plan for our generation. Thank you for helping me in this thrilling adventure.
I love you, Joan
