Rev. Joan Wakeford October 2009

Thank you for all your prayers. I was especially conscious of them during my time in Long Beach, where I was part of the "Gathering of the Nations" Conference at Rev. Sandra Turnbull's church, Glory Tabernacle. What a glorious time we had as we entered into a closer fellowship and commitment with our precious Savior, Jesus. The Holy Spirit was so real, we sensed such an outpouring and anointing, especially upon all the speakers.

I was thrilled to see Janet Robertson, Director of Encounter Missions International, along with her believers, the pastors from Taiwan, and other areas of the world. Brother Timothy flew in from Japan one day, preached under a great anointing and took off the next day, back to Japan. Oh to be young and full of energy, especially the Jesus' kind.

The young pastor from Taiwan kept us enthralled and rejoicing in what God is doing, in and through him, in his home land.

There were singers and dancers and rejoicing as I have seldom seen and after each service people thronged the altar to be filled with the spirit, healed or blessed in one way or another. Destiny, Dottie Rambo's granddaughter, sang and ministered to us and, later, God gave me a Word of Prophesy for her. God is going to use her mightily for His Glory.

Linda Barnes, Carolyn Bocian, & Joan Wakeford

Linda Barnes and Carolyn Bocian, E.M.I's missionaries to South Africa, kept us spell bound as they shared their experiences in the Transvaal among the homeless children. They informed us of the children without parents, starving children who eat from the dump, street children who either have A.I.D.S or whose mothers died from A.I.D.S. who desperately need love, nurturing, and all the help they are able to receive. They talked of helping them with their school work, as this will be their only means of entering a decent school and getting a proper education. They have such a vision for the future of these children and their ultimate heart's desire is to build an orphanage and bring it all together, not only in the Transvaal, but wherever God opens the door.

Then Carolyn reached into our hearts by telling of her longing to see the children interested in taking care of animals, maimed dogs, injured baboons and other poor creatures of the bush. Somehow or another, children and animals go together and South Africa is a great place to start. At the close of their presentation we were all saying yea, let's pray for them and do anything we can do to see their dream fulfilled.

God is working mightily at the Glory Tabernacle. One young woman was called to Australia and her firm is sending her over there to open up one of their offices and she will be right on the Mission Field God has chosen for her. Isn’t this just like our God?

Rev. Sandra Turnbull & Janet Robertson

I was scheduled to preach at the final service on Sunday and I really wondered how the Lord could possibly have any more blessings for us, but He did. God spoke, God moved, God blessed, God healed and I know God is in the process of prospering the TAB, E.M.I. and ALL THOSE WHO BELIEVE THAT IT IS PART OF HIS PLAN TO PROSPER US AND THAT WE WILL BE IN GOOD HEALTH. I left Long Beach filled to the brim and was able to share with K and Edie in Joshua Tree, their friends, Robin and Melanie, and their hairdresser, Journey. The Presence of the Lord was so real, as we laughed and talked and even shed a few tears together and before I knew it K, Edie and I were driving to their home in Sedona, where I got the bus to Phoenix Airport and flew home to Bill and Ken in Smithville.

I must thank everyone in Long Beach for their love and hospitality, especially Kathy and Cory, whose home I shared with Linda and Carolyn.

Bill, Ken and I want to take this opportunity of wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving. This is truly a time to thank God for His blessings, mercy, compassion, forgiveness and love for us and if we can turn around and treat everyone with the same loving kindness, we will be entering into our greatest achievement and others will see Christ in us. I challenge you, LET'S DO IT.

I thank God for you everyday, for your support, prayers and love. I thank Ken for sorting through pictures with me, for my book. In the near future I will be going up to Dallas area, to Pam and Christine to pull everything for the book together. PRAY FOR US.

God Bless you richly, I love you,
Joan
